Integration of Muslims in western countries

Europe vs USA

Muslims are 1% of the population compared to 4.5% in the UK and 5% in Germany and most are immigrants

The USA has traditionally had far more open immigration policies compared to the UK and Germany

It is a lot easier for Muslims to get to Germany and the UK compared to the USA both in geographical locations and the EU which allows travel between countries without as many obstacles

Islam in America is not dominated by a single sect or ethnicity

when the last study was done, they found that there were Muslims from 77 different countries compared to European countries which generally have only 1 or 2 dominant groups

the geographic diversity is very important

when there is low diversity Muslims have more of a shared heritage and language, compared the USA where they aren't all from the same location or ethnicity

Europe is often dealing with a more cohesive Muslim population, compared to the USA which is less unified

American Muslims often have all different reasons for being here because of the different ethnicities

The high diversity in the USA breeds tolerance, and American Muslims might be more tolerant than European and middle eastern Muslims

The Muslims in countries with less diversity in their Muslim population could be more prone to extremism

American Muslims are better off than European Muslims, they are more likely to be in the middle class or above than European Muslims

The high diversity has made American Muslims more willing to assimilate because there is no one dominant group they don’t have their own overarching culture

We have far less labor restrictions/regulations than Europe
