For your sustainability project, you’re planning to construct a permanent stained glass display with the intention of “shining light” on the challenge and promise of sustainability on campus. You’ll be using recycled glass and will display your project during Earth Week. The display will include some kind of interactive component that allows students to give their thoughts/feedback – this could be a wall lined with paper, a clipboard or journal, something digital – up to you.
You’ll want to check in with Chris Pierson to see what he has planned for Earth Week, and with Professor Silverman for ideas about where your project could “live.” I will check about spaces available for the Earth Week display as well as a permanent location.
Start working on your timeline – spend time visualizing everything you want to have done by the end of the semester, and start working backwards in time, setting benchmarks for yourself to keep you on track. You’ll also want to work with the Writing Center as often as needed, so your sustainability project report reflects all your work and thinking on your project.
I think this project is very exciting and I’m sure you’ll get some wonderful feedback from students. Can’t wait to see it come to life.
