In September, after the Sustainability Council meeting, Bob St. Jean and I talked about the proposed letter of support for LEED/green certification (for the Marcucella renovation and/or any new building projects on campus). Bob's recommendation is to hold off on giving such a letter to the new VP of Institutional Advancement until after we have gotten a chance to meet the new hire and gotten their thoughts on the matter. They may already be on board with the idea and ready to work with us, in which case such a letter would be premature. I talked with John as well, and the three finalists for the design/build team all have experience with large LEED /green building projects. So, what I'm hearing from the Council collectively is that there is support for putting our recommendation for building green down on paper, but it is also important to wait until we have had a chance to welcome the new VP, familiarize them with our work, and see what they're bringing to the table. In the meantime, let's keep the discussion going. Questions, suggestions, etc.?
