Description
IC110, IC111 Integrated Science I and II 4 credits each
History has shown that science provides a powerful methodology by which we, as human
beings, can come to understand the natural world; this course helps the student understand
why this is the case and also understand why science cannot provide all the answers. Students
become familiar with some of today?s major scientific concepts, how those concepts have
developed, and how scientists continue to revise these ideas. The course consists of two
large common sessions and two small group discussion sessions per week (discussion and lab
exercises). This year-long interdisciplinary laboratory science course is designed to improve
the scientific and technological literacy of students not majoring in a scientific discipline
Students may alternatively take a two-semester laboratory science sequence.
