    Description

PO362 Weapons of Mass Destruction 3 credits
Through an initial exploration of the nuclear rivalry between the United States and the
Soviet Union students will develop an understanding of how this competition transformed
the nature and conduct of world politics. Attention will be given to the implications stemming
from the breakup of the Soviet Union and the emergence of new security threats. Finally,
this course examines the challenges posed by other, equally deadly weapons of mass destruction:
chemical and biological agents, so-called ?dirty? bombs, and cyber attacks on computer
networks and systems. Prerequisite: any PO class or GLE120.
